What is the difference between psychology and psychiatry?

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who complete medical school and psychiatry residency, diagnose mental health conditions, and can prescribe medication. Psychologists hold doctoral degrees in psychology and specialize in psychotherapy and psychological testing; in most states, they do not prescribe medication. Do you take insurance?

Anda Psychiatry & Wellness is an out-of-network practice and does not have contracts with insurance companies. This allows Dr. Andujar to dedicate more time to each patient and provide truly personalized care without insurance-driven limitations on visit length or treatment decisions.

How can I see a psychiatrist without insurance?

You don’t need to use insurance to see Dr. Andujar. As an out-of-network practice, Anda Psychiatry & Wellness works directly with patients, which allows for longer appointments, greater flexibility, and care that isn’t shaped by insurance requirements.

If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill upon request that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend calling your insurer before your first visit and asking about your out-of-network mental health benefits, including your deductible and reimbursement rate.

If you have questions about fees or the process, please contact us. We’re happy to help you understand your options.
